FAQs
The need-to-knows, the nice-to-knows, and the “we just had to say it” stuff.
Getting Started
You’ve got a few different ways to get discovered:
- Event Marketplace: Respond to live Event Needs with custom proposals.
- My Matches: Show up as a personalized match when a user creates an Event Need that fits your business.
- Browse & Search: Get discovered when users browse vendors and filter by category, services, cultural tags, and more.
- Swipe View: Users can swipe through vendor profiles and save the ones they’re interested in.
Plus, Boosts are coming soon. They’ll be included in your subscription and can increase your visibility across your category, services, and cultural tags.
Create your vendor account, build your profile, and submit it for review. Once your profile is ready to go, you’ll be live on Matched & Hitched and ready to get discovered, matched, and receive proposals.
No, but strong photos can make a big difference. Your profile is often a user’s first impression of your work, so we recommend using clear, high-quality images that represent your business well.
You’ll choose one primary category for your business and can add the relevant services you offer within your profile.
If your business spans multiple areas, choose the category that best represents your main offering and use your services to show users everything else you do.
Proposals & Clients
When a user creates an Event Need, it is posted to the Event Marketplace. If the event looks like a fit for your business, you can send a custom proposal with your pricing, inclusions, and next steps.
The user can review your proposal and continue the conversation with you directly through Matched & Hitched.
You can’t randomly message users you haven’t connected with, but you can make the first move when they post an Event Need in the Event Marketplace.
If it looks like a fit, send them a proposal. If they’re interested, the conversation can continue from there.
Plans & Billing
No Labels is $0/month. You get a live, searchable profile, can appear in relevant matches for users, receive and respond to direct messages, manage your availability, browse Event Needs, and have opportunities to be featured across M&H social media.
All In is $40/month and includes everything in No Labels, plus the ability to submit unlimited proposals to Event Needs, a monthly 7-day profile Boost (coming soon), access to the Promotions Marketplace, analytics, Vendor of the Month eligibility, and priority consideration for social features and promotional opportunities.
In beta, you get All In features at no cost. No credit card required.
There are no commissions or per-lead fees, and you don’t need a paid plan to be discoverable on M&H. All In simply gives you more ways to actively pursue opportunities and grow your visibility. Subscriptions are month-to-month with no long-term contract.
Yes. Subscriptions are month-to-month, so you can cancel before your next billing date.
No long-term relationship required.
Badges & Visibility
Badges like Rising Star and Verified Vendor help users learn a little more about the businesses they are considering.
Each badge has its own criteria and is awarded based on factors established by Matched & Hitched. Badges are meant to provide additional context, not replace a user’s own due diligence when choosing a vendor.
Boosts are coming soon. They’ll give your profile additional visibility within your category, services, and cultural tags.
Boosts will be included as part of your subscription, and vendors will be able to purchase additional Boosts if they want more visibility.
Boosting helps you get seen more often in relevant places. It does not mean vendors with bigger advertising budgets automatically outrank everyone everywhere on Matched & Hitched.
Yes, if you’re on All In. Vendor of the Month is an All In feature.
Eligible vendors can be selected based on factors such as profile quality, responsiveness, engagement, client feedback, and the overall strength of their presence on Matched & Hitched.
Getting Started
Matched & Hitched is an event vendor marketplace built to make finding your vendor team a whole lot easier. Tell us what you need, get matched with vendors who fit, browse on your own, receive proposals, and keep track of the vendors you’re considering all in one place.
Think vendor search, with a little dating-app energy and significantly fewer “wyd?” texts.
Nope. Matched & Hitched is free for users planning events. Browse vendors, create Event Needs, receive matches and proposals, and build your Vendor Lineup without paying to use the platform.
Your budget has enough things competing for it already.
Absolutely. Weddings may have inspired us, but Matched & Hitched is built for events of all kinds: birthdays, engagements, baby showers, corporate events, cultural celebrations, and plenty more.
If you need a vendor team, you’re in the right place.
Finding Vendors
A few ways, depending on how you like to plan:
- My Matches: Create an Event Need and get personalized vendor matches based on what you’re looking for.
- Event Marketplace: Your Event Need is automatically posted so interested vendors can send you custom proposals.
- Browse & Search: Explore vendors yourself and narrow things down using categories, services, cultural tags, and other filters.
- Swipe View: Want the dating-app version? Swipe through vendors and save the ones that catch your eye.
Basically, you can search for them, or let them come to you.
Absolutely. You can message vendors directly through Matched & Hitched, or continue the conversation when a vendor sends you a proposal.
Found someone you like? You don’t have to wait for them to make the first move.
Create an Event Need anyway. Once you create one, it’s automatically posted to the Event Marketplace, where vendors who fit what you’re looking for can send you proposals.
And if your perfect match isn’t already on Matched & Hitched, we can also tap into our broader vendor network to help point you in the right direction.
Not at all. Save vendors you’re interested in, pass on the ones you’re not, compare your options, message vendors, and review proposals before deciding who makes your final lineup.
And if you change your mind about someone you passed on? That’s what Second Chances are for.
Trust & Privacy
We do preliminary reviews of vendor profiles and offer badges such as Rising Star and Verified Vendor based on specific criteria.
That said, a badge isn’t a substitute for doing your homework. We always recommend reviewing a vendor’s work, asking questions, checking references or reviews when appropriate, and doing your own due diligence before booking.
You’ll use a username on Matched & Hitched rather than having your name displayed throughout the platform.
When you create an Event Need, the event details you provide are posted to the Event Marketplace so vendors can determine whether they’re a good fit and send you proposals. Be mindful of what you include in those details and avoid sharing personal information you don’t want vendors to see.
